Jack E. Baugh¸68, died at 3:19 p.m. Monday, July 12, 1993, at St. Louis University Hospital. He was a truck driver with C.B.W. Transport in Roxana for 30 years, retiring in 1987. The World War II U.S. Marine veteran was a member of American Legion Post 794 of East Alton and Teamsters Local 525 of Alton.
Born in Calhoun County on March 23, 1925, he was the son of the late Henry and Sadie (Sidwell) Baugh. His marriage to the former Bernice Pepper took place Aug. 23, 1950, in Hardin. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Mike Baugh of St. Charles, Mo.; a granddaughter; a sister, Anna Ruth Webster of Kampsville; and six brothers, Winfred Baugh of Jerseyville, Hobart Baugh of Mascoutah, Bill and Hervel Baugh both of Dow, and Albert and Morland Baugh both of Sutherland Springs, Texas.
A sister, Odessa DeGerlia, preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Gubser Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Jack L. Brown officiating.
Military graveside rites will be at Summit Grove Cemetery in Kampsville
by Kampsville American Legion Post 1083.
