CALVEY. David A. Calvey, 63 of Pittsfield, IL passed away Saturday, January 15, 2011 at his residence. David was born in Hardin, IL on May 16, 1947 a son to Donald C. and Coralee McBride Calvey. He married Lois E. Smith on June 3, 1967 at the United Methodist Church in Baylis, IL. David owned and operated Calvey Shell Service in Pittsfield and later owned the Calvey’s Time & Fine Gems for twenty-two years in Pittsfield. He was a member of the El Dara Lodge #388 A.F. & A.M., Quincy Consistory, Life Member of NRA, and Two Rivers Regional Council of Public Officials. David enjoyed working on antique clocks, fishing, deer, duck and turkey hunting and shooting. He greatly loved his Cairn Terrier “Gerri”. He is survived by his wife Lois, a son, Charles Joseph “Joey” Calvey and special friend Cecily Calvey, a daughter, Jacqueline Lee (Marc) Lumley of Pittsfield, four grandchildren, David Charles Calvey, Preston Tyler Lumley, Cora Elaine Calvey and Logan Allen Lumley. One brother, Rodney R. Walker of Dow, IL also survives. David was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, January 18, 2011 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home with Masonic services by the El Dara Lodge #388 A.F. & A.M. being held at 7:30 p.m.
