Mrs. Elsie Clendenny, 76, widow of Charles Clendenny of Mozier died in Garnett nursing home in Jerseyville, Tuesday morning, January 24, 1967 at 4. She had lived in the nursing home since October 14, 1966.
Elsie May Cress was born in North Calhoun county, Sept. 6, 1890. She was married to Charles Clendenny in 1913. He was struck and killed by an automobile while crossing a street in Mosier a year ago.
Survivors are one son, Larry of Pleasant Hill; and four daughters, Mrs. Fay Gray of Wood River, Mrs. Estalene Fester of New Canton; Mrs. Thelma Puterbaugh of Hamburg, and Mrs. Florence Clemments of Wood River; a brother, Bryan of Kampsville; 15 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 in the Christian church at Mozier with Rev. Joe Maynard officiating. Burial will be in Summit Grove cemetery.
