Funeral rites for Thomas G. Plummer were held Tuesday, November 30, at the Grafton Methodist church for Thomas G. Plummer, whose death occurred at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, city clerk and Mrs. Benjamin Carey.
Rev. Edgar Purdy, pastor of the church, officiated at the service and sang "Face to Face" and " the Lights of Home" accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Purdy. This was the first time in the history of Grafton that anyone can remember that the minister delivered both the sermon and sang the solos. Interment was in the American Legion cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased and were Frank, Tom and Jerome Plummer, Vincent and Roland Carey and Lavern Freeman.
The flower bearers were granddaughters of Mr. Plummer and were Misses Ida and Ernestine Plummer, Mary Jane Dille and Ida Mae Church.
Mr. Plummer, who was eighty-four years old, was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John F. Plummer, natives of Calhoun County.
