Jim Webb, 66, of Pleasant Hill, IL died at 6:35 a.m. Monday (1-10-11) in his home. He was born July 18, 1944 in Calhoun County, Illinois, a son of Lacy E. and Velma M. Buchanan Webb. He married Linda Howland on November 8, 1963 in the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and she survives.
Jim was a 34 year employee of the Holcim Company in Clarksville, Missouri retiring in 2001 as a computer specialist. He was a former member of the Pleasant Hill Fire Department and had also served on a mapping committee for the village of Pleasant Hill. He enjoyed boating, Carnival cruises and was a former member of the Clarksville, Mo Boat Club. He also enjoyed duck, quail and rabbit hunting and was a member of the N.R.A. Most important was the time spent with friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
Jim attended the First Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Linda Webb of Pleasant Hill, two sons, Troy (Lisa) Webb of Chillicothe, IL and Trent Webb of Pleasant Hill, three granddaughters, Amaya, Alexia and Alia Webb all of Chillicothe, three sisters, Wilma Rodhouse of Pleasant Hill, Marie Carroll of Summer Hill and Sondra (Bob) Heimer of Pleasant Hill, two brothers, Bob (Joyce) Webb of rural Nebo and Elby (Ann) Webb of Roxanna and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Juanita Vetter and Wanda Herron.
Memorial services will be held Friday (1-14-11) at 11:00 a.m. at the Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill conducted by Pastor Sheri Renner. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Following visitation, cremation rites will be accorded. Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill is handling the arrangements.
